Monument record: MCC5748 Old Hall Marshes, Tollesbury (Monument)A large area of unimproved grazing marsh, representing several phases of reclamation and incorporating several marshes, adjacent to the Blackwater Estuary between Salcott Creek and Tollesbury Fleet. A wide range of characteristic features include sea wall, borrow dyke, sinuous former creeks and rills, counter walls, mounds, including red hills, building platforms, and counter walls. The grassland is managed through grazing as an RSPB reserve with public access and is of international importance.
