A tessellated pavement was found and damaged some time before 1907 in enlarging Messrs Wicks wine-cellar, the next cellar west of the George Hotel.

Another piece of tessellated pavement was found behind the S wall of the SE cellar of the George Hotel when alterations were made in 1936.
