Monument record: MCC10063 ?Late Prehistoric Pits, Severalls Hospital, Colchester (Element Group)A trial-trenched evaluation undertaken within the grounds of Severalls Hospital, Colchester, in advance of redevelopment in 2016, defined two small pits filled with a significant charcoal content. These were concentrated in the eastern part of the site (Trenches T31, T32, T35 and T36). There was also a second concentration in the northern part of the site (Trenches 14-17) (MCC10062).
