A small excavation in 1975-76 by Colchester Archaeological Committee of a possible domestic timber structure within an irregular ring ditch, dated to the Late Bronze Age. These were defined as cropmarks in 1974 and they are within a much larger area of cropmarks. In addition, a small assemblage of early Anglo-Saxon material suggested occupation in the immediate vicinity.

Possible Bronze Age activity was revealed to the north of the excavation area, in the form of two ditches and small pits/post-holes, and several tree throws, probably later medieval in date and probably relating to Birch Park, were defined in advance of the construction of a water pipeline in 2011.

Pit containing Middle Bronze Age or later pottery found in Trench A3 (Area A) defined during evaluation in 2002 and also in the 2011 Site D excavation at Colchester Garrison Alienated Land Area A1 (former Meeanee & Hyderabad Barracks), Mersea Road, Colchester.

A Mid-Late Bronze Age pit and Roman features (pits, wall foundation, metalled surface and a ditch), as well as a post-medieval ditch and undated features (4 pits and two ditches), were defined by trial-trenched evaluation within and, to the east of, the internal area (precinct or temenos) of Colchester Temple II.

A number of ditches, pits, tree-throws and post-holes, including a possible circular enclosure (c.9m in diameter), were defined in advance of the construction of a water pipeline in 2011.

Three pits containing mid to late Neolithic pottery, recorded by evaluation (Trench 4) in 2004. Three further pits of the same date were defined by excavation of a wider area.

Two small pits (F150 and F152) containing late prehistoric pottery, recorded during 2010 evaluation (and 2011 Site C excavation) in advance of the redevelopment of the former Meeanee & Hyderabad Barracks, Mersea Road.
